Course Overview
Edexcel IGCSE English Literature is the perfect course for students looking to engage with and develop the ability to read, understand and respond to a wide range of literary texts from around the world. You will develop an appreciation of the ways in which writers achieve their literary effects and develop the skills needed for literary study. This is a fascinating opportunity to explore, through literature, the cultures of your own and other societies and to find enjoyment in reading literature and understanding its influence on individuals and societies. The texts that are studied for the course are: Romeo and Juliet, Of Mice and Men, An Inspector Calls, Poetry Anthology. Learners should have developed foundation essay-writing skills for a solid foundation before commencing IGCSE English Literature. 2 exam papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2 – not Paper 3 (which is not done by private candidates because it is coursework/NEA)): 2 hours, 1.5 hours
Learning Objectives: The aims and objectives of this qualification are to enable students to:

Materials are proprietary and specifically developed solely for our own learners. All courses are taught by subject experts who are current/former home educators, and all courses are designed and created by the person teaching the course.

A: Yes, the course includes full tutor support which means: regular, detailed, personal feedback on assignments; tutor availability via email for the duration of the course; weekly live drop in “office hours” on zoom

A: Yes, there are ample opportunities throughout the live tutorials for students to participate and ask questions
Q: Are your class sizes limited?
A: Yes, all class sizes are small and limited in number, to ensure an optimal level of support, personalisation, flexibility and engagement
Q: Does my child have to have their camera and microphone on, to join and participate?
A: No, neither are required for learners; webcams tend to give young people the heebeejeebies and so are not required and participation/questions/quizzes/etc. all use text (not voice) participation by young people
