Straight Lines: Equations and Graphs – Ages 13+ (UK upper KS3) (6 sessions – £60)

In this short course, it is all about data and lines, building on early KS3 skills.
Straight lines, they look simple but have a whole lot of mathematics behind it.
In this short course we will look at how to draw straight lines, find the gradient and understand the equations.
We will apply all that knowledge to conversion graphs and scattergraphs.
A number of real-life examples will be used in this course to make the abstract concepts more relevant.
Learners should have a solid foundation in lower KS3 maths before enrolling in this course, as this course is an advanced KS3 level course.

This course is one in a series of 5 short courses covering upper KS3/Year 9 material, that can be used as stand-alone courses or combined form an excellent foundation before embarking on GCSEs / IGCSEs. All courses in the series use a variety of activities to embed the skills, check understanding and promote mathematical thinking. And, optional extra challenges will be made available for those wanting to stretch themselves. This course is part of the “Upper KS3 Mathematics Curriculum Program”, a combined package of all 5 courses of the series.
Each short course includes: weekly online, video tutorials; a wide range of homework / assignments /activities for inspiration and practice of knowledge & skills (and to be creative) with personal feedback; weekly learning documents, support materials and resources; direct access to a passionate, knowledgeable tutor; easy access via the online Canvas learning platform (and Zoom).
