RADIOACTIVE! (6 sessions – £45) An online, tutor-led small group short course for home educated / homeschooling students

Course Summary: In this course we will look at what makes something radioactive, why radioactive substances can be dangerous as well as how they can be useful in our lives. We will explore topics from Chernobyl and Nuclear bombs to treating cancer and powering our homes. We will discuss some fascinating physical concepts such as half life and nuclear fission to gain a strong foundation in understanding radioactivity. An excellent precursor to students hoping to do a physics IGCSE, as well as a superb stand-alone course (and this course is also included in the 1yr Upper KS3 Combined Physics Curriculum program).

Who This Course is For: Young people aged 13+ yrs
