Course Summary: Explore the connection between History, Politics & Literature. For centuries, writers have made use of Literature as a vehicle to critique the Politics and Politicians of their times. From the social critique of Dickens to the Socialism of post-war Drama to the race relations of Gorman’s poetry today. A fascinating course that delves into the political lessons of literature throughout history and the political impact writers have hoped their literature would have on their contemporary audiences.
