History and Philosophy (6 sessions – £60): online, tutor-led small group short course for home educated / homeschooling students

Course Summary: A fascinating subject where we look at the evolution of methods and tools of philosophical and ethical inquiry throughout history and apply them to contemporary beliefs and values and key issues facing the world today. This course investigates our beliefs, values and decision-making processes and it challenges assumptions and ideas to see if they can still stand up as relevant and meaningful. The course includes the philosophical study of: Beliefs; Teachings; Practises and the ethical study of the following themes: Relationships and families; Life and the universe; Peace and conflict; Crime and punishment; Human rights and social justice. [This course is also available as part of a ‘full year’ History & Philosophy curriculum bundle of short courses]

Who This Course is For: Young people aged 13yrs+

What this Course Includes: Each small-group short course includes: weekly video tutorials (avail. 24/7); support learning materials / documents / resources; weekly activities (such as projects, quizzes, assignments with personal feedback, etc. ); direct access to a passionate, knowledgeable tutor; easy access via the online “Canvas” learning platform (and Zoom).
